Apple Breakfast Popover Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup fat-free milk
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon butter or stick margarine, melted
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups finely chopped peeled apple
  • 1/2 cup apple jelly
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the egg whites, milk, flour, butter and salt until smooth.
  2. Pour into an 8-in. square baking dish coated with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Bake at 400 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until golden and puffed.
  4. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the apples, jelly, water and cinnamon. heat over low heat until jelly is melted and mixture is heated through.
  5. Cut popover into quarters; serve with apple topping.

Ingredients

  • 18 (1 ounce) slices white bread, cubed
  • 8 ounces cooked ham, cubed
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups diced Swiss cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups crushed cornflakes cereal
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Line the bottom of the dish with half the bread cubes. Sprinkle with ham, Cheddar cheese, and Swiss cheese, and top with remaining bread.
  2. In a bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, and onion powder. Pour evenly over bread. Cover, and refrigerate overnight.
  3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a small bowl, blend the crushed cornflakes and melted butter. Spread evenly over the casserole.
  4. Bake 40 minutes in the preheated oven, or until bubbly and golden brown. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

Recipe For Country Manor Breakfast Tart

Ingredients

    Crust
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 3/4 cups shortening
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • Filling
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/3 cup finely diced smoked ham
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 8 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh basil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, minced
  • 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, diced
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 1/3 cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add water, egg, and vinegar. Mix together but do not work too much. Divide pastry into two pieces, cover and chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Form each piece into a round and roll out crust on lightly floured surface. Carefully fit into two 10 inch tart pans.
  3. Blind bake tart shells in preheated oven until golden brown. Let cool.
  4. Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble, and set aside.
  5. Saute onion in butter until translucent. Divide ham, bacon and onion into two equal portions and sprinkle over the bottom of tart shells.
  6. Whisk together cream and beaten eggs. Add salt, pepper, nutmeg, basil, and thyme, and stir well. Pour egg mixture over bacon mixture. Sprinkle cream cheese cubes and grated Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses over the top of each filled tart. Sprinkle green onions over cheese, followed by sliced almonds.
  7. Bake in preheated 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) oven for 30 to 40 minutes. Let cool slightly, then cut and serve.

Easter Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bacon
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 7x11 inch casserole dish.
  2. Fry the bacon in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Crumble.
  3. In a large bowl beat together eggs and milk. Mix in cheese, bacon, onion and green pepper. Stir in the thawed hash browns. Pour mixture into prepared casserole.
  4. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake for another 30 minutes until eggs have set.

How To Make Oatmeal Breakfast Treats

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the first five ingredients; mix well. Combine oats, flours and salt; add to brown sugar mixture and mix well. Stir in raisins and walnuts.
  2. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F for 12-14 minutes or until set.
